| Now in its fifth year, Brighton Early Music Festival, which takes place this October, is the second largest UK event celebrating early music in all its forms. "Our hallmark is the way we make a feature of involving ensembles which push at the boundaries of early music," explains Clare Norburn, one of the Artistic Directors. "Many of the artists we promote straddle the early music/world music/folk divide or are exploring ways of combining music with dance, theatre and film. We programme medieval/jazz crossover events alongside ensembles and repertoire you would expect from a more traditional early music festival." |
