| 2184 organ pipes were brought by crane into Yale University’s Marquand Chapel this past June. Taylor and Boody’s four-manual, mean-tone temperament organ was slowly set up in the chapel balcony, complementing the existing three manual, 1931 Skinner organ on the floor. |

The theme of this year’s Birmingham Early Music Festival was suggested by that of a major exhibition of Byzantine coins entitled “Encounters: Travel and Money in the Byzantine World”. The exhibition, which illustrates the function of coins as a medium of cultural exchange, opened at the British Museum in 2006 and is running at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham throughout 2007. |

September 2007 to June 2008.
The new season of early music in Innsbruck consists of 13 concerts. It opens on 30 September with a programme of music by Purcell, Corelli, Rebel, Albinoni and Telemann performed by the Harmony of Nations Baroque Orchestra, formed in 2005 and directed by Alfredo Bernardini. 21 October marks the presentation of the Italian ensemble La Venexiana, conducted by Claudio Cavina, who will perform a program of madrigals by Monteverdi, Gesualdo, Luzzaschi and Marenzio. |

The president of the Constellation Center Project, Glenn KnicKrehm hosted a lecture at the Boston Early Music Festival on the procedures of building a proper baroque opera theater and concert hall. |
