   FRANÇOIS FERNANDEZ
Francois Fernandez was born in Rouen, France, 1960 for a family of musicians. At the age of 12 he started studying the baroque violin, and 5 years later devoting himself to this instrument entirely. For 2.5 years he studied in the royal conservatory of Den-Haag obtaining the soloist diploma in Sigiswald Kuijken’s class.

Since that, he regularly takes part in ‘La Petite Bande’, ‘La Chapelle Royale’, and ‘Orchestra of the 18th Century’ -very often as a soloist or concertmaster. Since few years is principally involved with chamber music with the Kuijken brothers, Ricercar-Consort, Philip Pierlot, the Hantai brothers and plays solo programs, primarily Bach partitas.

His recording of the Leclair sonatas (for the label Auvidis-Astree) received the ‘Gramophone Award". Fernandez teaches baroque violin at the ‘Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris’.
