Highly regarded as soloist and chamber musician, Lars Ulrik Mortensen is becoming increasingly known as a conductor. He is currently the Artistic Director of Concerto Copenhagen, and appears regularly directing opera at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, where his most recent success was Handel’s Giulio Cesare. Mortensen’s discography is extensive and he has received awards worldwide for his recordings. Between 1996 and 1999 he was professor for harpsichord and performance practice at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich and he teaches at numerous courses for baroque music throughout the world.
