Gabriele Cassone,born in Udine where he completed his courses in 1976.Afterwords he got the composition diploma as well.

When he was seventeen years old, he joined the Orchestra Pomeriggi Musicali, where he had the principal position for thirteen years.

With this same position he has cooperated with radio Symphonic Orchestra and Scala Philharmonic orchestras of Milan.

He won various domestic and international competitions, among witch Marchneukirchen (1986) and Tulon (1987).As soloist he has recorded several Cds and Sequenza X ,solo trumpet of Luciano Berio,for Deutsche Grammophone at the presence of the composer.

Kol-Od by Luciano Berio, for trumpet and Ensemble,was performed as world premiere on April 1996 in Basel with the ensemble Intercontemporain with Pierre Boulez.Others replicas were in Scala Milan,AmsterdamConcertgebouw, London, Paris, Donaueschingen, Madrid... He did play many premieres for solo trumpet also by S.Sciarrino(Milan), I.Fedele(Strasburg), A.Plog(Rotterdam), R.Ford(Utrecht), D.Zanettovich(Verona)...

He recorded many CD for solo baroque trumpet with Accademia Bizantina, Concerto Italiano, Orchestra of S.Petronio in Bologna, Ensemble Pian&Forte and others.

In 1996 with the Giardino Armonico he also recorded the 2nd Brandenburg concerto for Teldec, after a tour of concerts in all Europe.In 1997 he did give a concert and a seminar in the Hochschule Mozarteum in Salzburg and a recital in The Carnegie Hall in NY. In this year he recorded a CD with his group of natural trumpet and have tournee in Holland and Polonia and France.

Presently he teaches in the Music Conservatory in Novara, and gives courses in the Lausanne Conservatory.
