Susan Gritton's operatic roles have included Susanna 'Le Nozze di Figaro', Zerlina 'Don Giovanni' and Miss Wordsworth 'Albert Herring' at Glyndebourne; Marenka 'The Bartered Bride' and Euridice 'Orfeo' for the Royal Opera House; Romilda 'Xerxes' and Cleopatra 'Giulio Cesare' at the Bayerische Staatsoper; Belinda 'Dido and Aeneas' at the Deutsche Staatsoper; and First Niece 'Peter Grimes' under Pappano for La Monnaie, Brussels.

At English National Opera, where she is a Company Principal, her roles have included Atalanta 'Xerxes', Caroline 'The Fairy Queen', Constance 'Dialogues des Carmélites', Pamina 'Die Zauberflöte', Nanetta 'Falstaff' and the title role in 'The Cunning Little Vixen'.

Her concert experience is extensive, including performances at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Konzerthaus Vienna, Philharmonie Berlin and at the Edinburgh Festival. She has worked with many renowned conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Colin Davis, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Kent Nagano, and Bernard Haitink. This season she will also make her U.S. recital debut at the Lincoln Centre, New York.

Her extensive discography includes Handel's 'Messiah', 'Solomon' and the title role in 'Theodora' with the Gabrieli Consort for Deutsche Grammophon; and Miss Wordsworth in 'Albert Herring' with Steuart Bedford.

She recently made her recital début recording of works by Fanny Mendelssohn (Hensel) for Hyperion. Her latest recording of Clara Schumann songs has also just been released by Hyperion.
