   ROBERTA INVERNIZZI
Born in Milan, she studied piano and double bass before turning to singing, studying with the Margaret Heyward. She went on to specialize in baroque and classical repertoire and is now one of the most sought after soloists in the field of early music.

She has sung in many of the most important theatres in Europe and the United States, working with conductors Ton Koopman, Gustav Leonhardt, Andrew Parrot, Jordi Savall,Christophe Coin, Anner Bylsma, Alan Curtis, Giovanni Antonini, Fabio Biondi, Antonio Florio, Rinaldo Alessandrini and Ottavio Dantone and collaborating regularly with the ensembles Il Giardino Armonico, la Cappella de la Pietà dei Turchini, il Concerto Italiano, l'Europa Galante, i Sonatori della Gioiosa Marca, l'Archibudelli e la RSTI di Lugano.

Recent opera performances include principal roles in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Handel's Rodrigo, Vivaldi's Senna Festeggiante and L'Olimpiade, Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, Pergolesi's L'Olimpiade, Marco da Gagliano's La Dafne, Gaetano Latilla's La Finta Camereriera, Vinci's Le Zite n'Galera and Francesco Provenzale's La Colomba Ferita. In a very busy schedule, high points of the last 12 months include Handel's Aci, Galatea e Polifemo at the Salzburg Festival with Il Giardino Armonico, recital at the Cité de la Musique with Concerto Italiano, Vivaldi's Vespers at the Ambronay Festival and Scarlatti's La Vergine dei Dolori at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples with Concerto Italiano, Piccinni's La Didone Abbandonata at the Citè de la Musique in Paris and Cavalli's La Statira at the Beaune festival with La Cappella della Pietà dei Turchini, and Scarlatti's La Santissima Trinità in Palermo with recording EMI-Virgin at the T. Champs Elysees in Paris with Europa Galante.

Roberta has recorded for Sony, EMI/Virgin, Opus 111, Stradivarius, Symphonia and Bon Giovanni. She has made over 60 recordings, many of which have been recognized by the musical press with awards like Diapason D'Or, Choc Musique, Choc de l'année. Future projects include a programme of Monteverdi in Switzerland, Germany and Finland; Cavalli's La Statira at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples; Pergolesi's Stabat Mater at the T.Champs Elysees; recording of MonteverdisVespro for Opus 111; a Vivaldi programme with Spinosi; Handel's Trionfo del Tempo with Martin Haselböck at the Salzburg fesival; Pergolesi's Flaminio in Jesi; La Vergine dei Dolori at La Monnaie; Drusilla in the Incoronazione di Poppea at the Opéra National du Rhin and Minerva in the Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria at the Grand Theatre de Geneve. She teaches singing at the Centro di Musica Antica in Naples.
