  GUNDULA ANDERS
Gundula Anders was born in Frankfurt am Main, where she initially studied musical education, organ, theology and German. She subsequently studied singing at the Schola Cantorum in Basle, where René Jacobs was among her teachers.

Courses with Emma Kirkby and additional lessons with Jessica Cash in London followed. She is at present receiving voice training from Peter Elkus.

In addition to her solo activities as oratorio singer, Gundula Anders works with ensembles like Sequentia, Musica Fiata Köln, the Balthasar Neumann Choir, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and Cantus Cölln. She has made concert tours through the whole of Europe and in Israel and North Africa. She teaches historical singing at the College of Music and Drama in Leipzig.

Gundula Anders is particularly interested in the sixteenth- to eighteenth-century song repertoire, which she frequently features in concert programmes together with her duo partner Sigrun Richter. Her work is documented by numerous radio, TV and CD recordings, including a CD of Renaissance music using texts by Francesco Petrarca entitled Io canterei d'Amor, on which she is partnered by Sigrun Richter and the flautist Liane Ehlich.
