23 October to 2 November 2008. Now in its 12th year, the Quebec Sacred Music Festival keeps working to raise public awareness of this all-encompassing genre and break linguistic, geographical and religious barriers. The festival does not limit itself to just one style; it ranges from Gregorian chants to gospel, from early music to contemporary debuts.
21 July to 15 August 2008. Early Music Vancouver and the University of British Columbia’s School of Music are organizing a busy schedule of concerts and courses this summer. They will run from mid-July to mid-August and feature invited groups and soloists as well as performers from the school itself. The festival will focus in particular on the Montreal music scene and run from 27 July to 14 August.
The Montreal viol duo, Les Voix Humaines (Susie Napper and Margaret Little) are celebrating their five recent Opus nominations in three categories. In that of medieval, Renaissance and baroque music Les Voix Humaines won three nominations for CD of the year.
