Vocal group Ars Nova is considered one of the most prominent chamber choirs in Scandinavia. The ensemble has produced a series of internationally acclaimed CD's and has given many concerts and broadcasts in Scandinavia, Europe, Israel, Japan, Brazil, Ghana, Canada, Vietnam, Mexico, Guatemala and USA.

The 12 singers of Ars Nova have worked with several conductors and the list includes such prominent names as Peter Philips (The Tallis Scholars), Bruno Turner (Pro Cantione Antiqua) and Paul Hillier who was appointed chief conductor of Ars Nova in June 2002.

With great enthusiasm and expertise, Vocal group Ars Nova has pioneered in renaissance vocal music with highly praised performances of intricate polyphonic masterpieces by composers such as Guillaume Dufay, Josquin des Prèz, Thomas Tallis, Orlando di Lasso and Giovanni da Palestrina. Furthermore, the group has revived neglected masters like Pierre de la Rue, Nicolas Gombert, Filipe de Magalhaes, John Dunstable, Jacob Obrecht, Alonso Lobo, Duarte Lobo, Manuel Cardoso, and Giaches de Wert. Ars Nova made first performances of many of these works in modern age.

A CD featuring motets by William Byrd has recently been released and a new CD with church music by Jacob Obrecht was released in January 2003.
