Following its enormous success in 2002 the International Festival of Early Music is returning to Greenwich for the second year. A lively mix of exhibition and performance, the event will fill the Old Royal Naval College with sounds of early music and song and an array of superb instruments including harps, harpsichords, viols, lutes, crumhorns and of course an incredible variety of recorders.
There will be continuous makers' demonstrations recitals, Trinity College of Music master classes, led by leaders in the field, and formal concerts. The concerts will take place in St Alfege Church, Greenwich, and the Old Royal Naval College Chapel.
In addition the finals of the Moeck/SRP solo recorder playing competition finals are taking place during the festival on Sunday October 26th. The adjudicators are Dan Laurin, Ashley Solomon and Marion Scott and the winner of this coveted prize will give a recital at the 2004 festival.
