Janiculum has performed widely in Great Britain, festival appearances include Ayrshire, Brighton, Cambridge, Finchcocks, Gower, Norwich and Sevenoaks. The group has also appeared at the Palermo Festival. Concerts in association with art exhibitions have included Kenwood, The British Museum and the Royal Academy of Arts. Janiculum has also given a fund-raising concert for The National Art Collections Fund and done many concerts for Sotheby’s Institute. The group has recently been doing concerts for The British Museum in The Enlightenment Galleries.
Janiculum has been sponsored by the Ford Motor Company for a National Trust series, the Drambuie Liqueur Company for concerts in Aberdeen and London and the CD Kings over the Water, made in conjunction with the exhibition The King over the Water at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh. Grants were received from The Foundation for Sport and the Arts for a project on Handel’s Rivals for the Handel Institute which led to a Handel’s Rivals CD, from the Arts Council for Monteverdi and the Leche Trust for a Grand Tour series at The Royal Society of Arts, which again led to a CD, The Grand Tour. The group’s CDs appear under its own label, Janiculum. They have been welcomed for their unusual and enterprising programmes.
Jane Clark’s other great interest is François Couperin. She has played the complete Pièces de Clavecin several times and written widely on their background, most recently collaborating with Derek Connon in ‘The mirror of human life’; reflections on François Couperin’s Pièces de Clavecin. This has received critical acclaim in the UK, France and the USA.
