The professional musicians play exclusively on original instruments. The ensemble's wide-ranging repertoire comprises choral and orchestral music, symphonic works, and, above all, operas. The Barockorchester Stuttgart is the regular orchestra of the Internationales Festtage Alter Musik Stuttgart.

Recent recordings include the Carus productions of the complete incidental music to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Mozart's Requiem.
