| Peter Phillips studied in Oxford and founded The Tallis Scholars in 1973, group specializing in Renaissance polyphony.
In 1981, with Steve Smith, he created the label Gimell, which has produced more than 30 CDs to date.
His first book, English Sacred Music 1549-1649 was published in 1991. |
